چکیده

Salt stress is one of the main limiting factors for plant growth and crop yield. Halophytes have been postulated as a new food source since they are able to grow under saline environments suitable minerals bioactive compounds. See fennel Crithmum maritimum L. facultative halophyte moderately tolerant salinity. This study was carried out in order determine effect spraying methyl jasmonate (MeJa) on leaves had nutritional quality NaCl-treated sea plants grown hydroponic system. For that, seedlings were treated with (a) 0.5 mM MeJa, (b) 150 NaCl, (c) MeJa + NaCl. The results showed that NaCl reduced shoot biomass baby leaf plants, but addition enabled partial recovery. At same time, when compared only favoured Ca K uptake translocation saline-treated plants. However, did not reduce Na levels. In all treatments, nitrate nitrite ions range acceptable daily intake (ADI) essential fatty acid content elevated, although linolenic linoleic contents Total phenolic compounds recovered by after their decrease salinity no differences antioxidant activity found between treatments. maintained properties increased total flavonoids These alleviated negative effects salt C. floating systems, improving edible parts increasing flavonoid mineral without affecting capacity plant.

Effect of Salinity Stress and Exogenously Applied Methyl Jasmonate on Growth and Physiological Traits of Two Carthamus tinctorius Varieties

Salinity stress is one of the main limiting factors for optimum agricultural productivity of safflower, Carthamus tinctorius L., in arid and semi-arid regions. It could leads to significant changes in plant biochemical, physiological, and growth traits. Salinity induced endogenous rise in jasmonic acid and its methyl esters (MeJA) has been reported. In the present study, effects of salinity str...
